Diamond Aircraft Delivers the First DA62 MPP with RIEGL Airborne LiDAR to the Centre for GIS in the State of Qatar

Diamond Aircraft recently announced that they had successfully delivered the first DA62 MPP (Multi-Purpose Platform) Survey Star Special Mission Aircraft with the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S Airborne Laser Scanner and Vexcel Osprey 4.1 large format camera to the Centre for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) in the state of Qatar. The aircraft, won through a tender in 2021, was handed over to CGIS, the official geospatial agency in Qatar under the Ministry of Municipality.

The aircraft also comes with a comes with a changeable option of the Vexcel Osprey camera with a RIEGL VQ-880-G II bathymetric Sensor. All systems have been integrated and civil certified by Diamond Aircraft in Austria and due to the close cooperation between RIEGL and Diamond Aircraft, integration of RIEGL airborne LiDAR into these special mission aircraft is seamless.
