RIEGL attended the Train & Metro Congress in Santiago, Chile recently in collaboration with Geocom. This event gathered industry professionals and government representatives to discuss railroad and mining projects and management. Claudio Avello, RIEGL USA Regional Manager for LATAM, spoke with EFE (Chilean Government Railroad Organization), Metro de Santiago (Subway System), and several local engineers. A video detailing RIEGL‘s technology and solutions performing a scan of the Maipo Railroad Bridge with a RIEGL VZ-400i terrestrial laser scanner along with a presentation given to 200+ attendees was an engaging focus point.

There was a high interest in future demos on terrestrial, unmanned, and mobile sensors and systems. The tentative plan is to host regional March Demos in collaboration with Geocom. Details coming soon.
